ABOUT

Hello
My name is Anna Nelson
First and foremost, I’m a huge fan of laughter - the kind that makes your cheeks hurt and leaves you gasping for air. Life is too short to take too seriously, so I embrace the moments of joy, even if that means singing off-key in my local church with enthusiasm (because why not?). I’m a wife, a homeschooling mom to three amazing kids, and I love spending time outdoors.
What I do isn’t just a job - it’s a calling. I’ve been where you are, facing my own challenges, and I’ve learned that healing isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress, growth, and being real with yourself. I’m deeply passionate about supporting others, and my own journey has shaped the way I approach therapy. I’m not above being human, and I understand that life can be tough, which is why I try to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and supported.
The values that guide me - authenticity, kindness, growth, and connection are at the core of how I live and work. I’m here to help you navigate your unique challenges, and together, we’ll focus on finding solutions that honor who you truly are. Let’s walk this path of healing and growth, with compassion, humor, and a genuine belief that things can get better.

I have supported those dealing with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, addictions, and the impact of abuse. My work focuses on keeping individuals out of the hospital by offering supportive care in the community to help them heal and thrive.
-
I have extensive experience in mental health crisis intervention, offering support to clients during times of acute emotional or behavioral distress. I also provide psycho-social rehabilitation, developing tailored programs to help individuals manage everyday challenges and regain stability.
-
Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and create individualized treatment plans for those facing a range of mental health challenges, from mood disorders to anxiety.

-
I’ve supported families and youth through complex emotional and behavioral challenges, whether it's facilitating family visits, helping families adjust to new diagnoses, or supporting youth in conflict with the law. My goal is always to promote healthy relationships and encourage positive change.
-
In private practice, I work with individuals and couples to address mental health struggles, relationship issues, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns. I’m here to help you develop practical coping skills and healthier patterns in your personal and professional life.
-
My background as a Therapeutic Recreation Aide has allowed me to promote well-being in residential settings, using recreational activities to address the physical, emotional, and social aspects of health.
-
I have provided palliative care support for residents and their families, offering compassionate and holistic care that addresses both emotional and physical well-being during difficult times.
-

-
And, I bring a sense of humor to therapy, because sometimes, laughter is the best way to heal.
